The Fetzer Institute is a private operating foundation in Kalamazoo, Michigan, whose mission is to foster awareness of the power of love and forgiveness. This mission shapes both its external work and its internal character, creating a unique organizational culture. We are committed to fostering an environment where people appreciate, respect, and value differences in their everyday work, leading to greater levels of trust, authenticity, and productivity.

The staff of the Fetzer Institute is comprised of approximately 60 talented individuals working in Programs, Administration, and Operations:

Programs – Members of the Institute’s program staff work collaboratively to develop, manage, and evaluate our programs. Program staff members also work very closely with outside consultants and program partners.

Administration – Administrative staff members work in various areas in support of our programs. Those areas include: Finance, Human Resources, Information Systems and Services, and Program Administration.

Operations – The staff on our Operations team work in the Culinary Services, Building and Grounds, and Guest Services areas. The Operations team is responsible for maintaining the Institute’s properties and providing services for Seasons, our private retreat center in Kalamazoo, and GilChrist, our public retreat center located in Three Rivers, Michigan.

Part-Time Culinary Services Assistant

The Fetzer Institute announces an opening for a culinary services assistant with experience in food preparation in a service-oriented environment. Qualified applicants will possess basic culinary skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented atmosphere. This position is part-time, 20-28 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
